We understand it can be frustrating when a purchase doesn’t go through – we’re here to help you sort it out!
 Declined purchases can be due to several reasons, such as:

  1. The card is not activated
  2. The card has no balance
  3. The card is used for purchases where the business is not registered as a restaurant or food-related service
  4. The card has been blocked
  5. The card has not been used in the last twelve months
  6. Transaction limits are activated 


1.How to activate your card – You activate your Epassi card the first time you make a purchase by inserting the card into the card terminal and using the PIN code.
 

After that, you can use contactless payment.
 

Reactivate your card: After about five purchases, you may need to reactivate contactless payments with the PIN code.

 

Here’s how to find the PIN code in the app:

  1. Log in to the Epassikortet app with BankID.
  2. Tap the "My Account" icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap "Show PIN code." You will need to verify with BankID again to view your PIN code.

Here’s how to find the PIN code via the web:

  1. Log in to Lunch.epassi.se with BankID.
  2. Click on the "Card" tab – now you will see an image of your card.
  3. Click on the card to view your PIN code. You will need to verify with BankID again to view your PIN code.


2.The card has no balance – Usually, your card is loaded with a new balance at the beginning of each calendar month.


3.The card works here – The Epassi card is accepted where VISA cards are accepted and when the business and payment terminal are registered as "restaurant" or "food-related service."
 The Epassi card works at many restaurants as well as in grocery stores such as ICA, Coop, Willys, and more.


4.The card is blocked – You can unblock your card via the app or web.

Here’s how to unblock via the app:

  1. Log in to the Epassikortet app with BankID.
  2. Tap the "My Account" icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap "Unblock" and follow the instructions.
  4. Your PIN code will now work again!

Here’s how to unblock via the web:

  1. Log in to Lunch.epassi.se with BankID.
  2. Click on the "Card" tab – now you will see an image of your card.
  3. Click on "Remove card block" under the image of the card.
  4. Your PIN code will now work again!

Please note that you will need to activate your card again after it has been blocked. You can reactivate your Epassi card by inserting it into the card terminal and using the PIN code at your next purchase.


5.The card has not been used in twelve months:
 If you haven’t used the card in the last 12 months and no new balances have been ordered, the card will be deactivated. Please contact customer service if you suspect this could be the reason your purchase is being declined.


6. Transaction limits are activated

  1. Log in to the Epassikortet app with BankID. 
  2. Click on the "My Account" icon in the top right corner. 
  3. Click on "Daily Transaction Limit" and set your limit value. 
  4. Note that a change may take up to 24 hours to be activated.
